Funding, Media Grants and Fellowships
A Ratiu Forum webinar with Kit Gillet and Cristian Lupsa
Cristian is the founder of Romania’s preeminent longform magazine, DoR, which is a must-read for all young journalists with literary ambitions. Over the years they have tried a wide variety of funding models for individual articles, the magazine, and events. As Cristian says, ‘I don’t think there’s something we have not tried over the years.’ In more recent times, DoR has doubled the size of the revenue it brings in from the community, from sources such as reader revenue, merchandise, grants, sponsorship and advertisement. In this 60-minute webinar, experienced international news correspondents Kit Gillet and Cristian Lupsa will discuss how best to seek funding for your media work, exploring the varied and often complex list of options available. In conversation with participants, they will discuss revenue creation routes, along with advice for
scholarships and grant applications.
